Tangent thinking... OH and Real World!

I'm trying to not 'force' these blog entries and I don't think I have done that yet (this may count though), I think I'm still working on that "blogger's flow". Trying to figure out what I want to achieve through this blogging concept, I think the most interesting thing someone (especially being on air) can do is to give a peek into their life. Everyone's got opinions, but it's important to make it so that someone can connect to that opinion somehow rather than just spitting words... as I realize I am doing now, seeing as I have no experience relevant to this to share. But I will still post this nonsense, ha!

Anyways, to continue off the original 'birthday blog' I had a good one overall, saw Transformers 2... which is all kinds of epic... Action, Megan Fox, action! The ground squirrel, I haven't seen since that unfortunate incident... hopefully it is gone, but my paranoia about the situation still lurks. All in all, first birthday spent away from the family, it went pretty well. Oh, how can I forget??? I interviewed Ayiiia from Real World Cancun on my birthday... here is the link to the extended interview: http://twaud.io/1k I had a lot of fun with the interview and the best news that I actually got a couple hours ago is that I will be able to interview any Real World Cancuner that I choose as the season progresses! So if you want me to pick a specific real worlder, comment to this blog and I can get it done! The goal is to interview all roommates at least once, maybe twice dependant how the season goes.

Crouching Squirrel, Hidden Chipmunk

So, my birthday has already started off with a weird beginning. I randomly woke up at about 2am looked down and saw a... I have no idea, its a mix between a squirrel/chipmunk/mouse... it looked like a squirrel, but it had a stubby little tail (I call it a squirrel-munk). I don't know how it got in my room, I live on the second floor, it ran behind my bed and I can't find it. So I hope its gone, but I have no idea, what a freaky looking thing. I'll just have my brother's dog chill up there for a couple hours, that will be proof enough to me!
Unfortunately, a fraternity brother passed away a few days ago, so the funeral will be today as well. I get to see a lot of alumni which is a plus, but the occassion isn't the most pleasant.
But there is a plus somewhere in today, I will be interviewing Ayiiia from MTV's Real World Cancun. The interview will air on Big Country during Iain Black's show, I will also have the extended version put on the website in the Audio Bank.

Jon & Kate Plus Great Drama

In the one hour special on TLC last night, Jon and Kate had an announcement, which, to no true surprise, Jon & Kate have filed for Divorce. Now, the question on everyone's mind is... nope not how Kate will handle it, no not about Jon being able to figure out what he wants to do with himself, not even about the kids, it's all about where will the show go from here. It's great for ratings, this is the first show in a many generations that we see the building of a family foundation for 4 seasons and in the 5th we see that sound and strong family fall apart.

I know a great way for them to save this marriage and stay together as a family, however, even though I'm sure Jon would be up for it, I doubt that Kate is. It's simple, drop the show... if you're really all about the kids, end the show, and be all about the kids! Yes, the money is nice and helps the kids... but let's face it, you guys are spending a lot more than necessary to provide a 'laps of luxury" for your kids. That's great, but looking back in 10 years, your kids may rather have you guys cancel the show and stay together in the long run!

One thing that is for sure from this seperation, TLC should get high ratings with Jon & Kate Plus 8 for at least another 2 episodes... but, what's more real than Divorce... Jon and kate... for the ratings of your show, I think you're onto something!

Real World Interview

So, I was asked a few weeks ago by a booking agent if I could interview Ayiiia from Real World Season 22 (Cancun) on Big Country. Of course I said yes. If you don't know, I will watch any reality tv... for the most part, I don't follow the bachelor or the bachelorette, I will follow VH1 "dating" reality shows like a shot at love with Tila Tequila or Rock of love with Bret Michaels or even Daisy of Love (even though I am usually disappointed with how unprepared Daisey is for her own show... I guess they will give just about anyone a show these days). ANYWAYS, back to the exciting news... after the premiere of the Real World Cancun... to air on MTV on Wednesday (6/24) at 10pm (ET)... I get the chance to interview one of the 8 roommates. Ayiiia was the one voted into the show from realworldcasting.com so I will definitely ask about that and see what is to come on the show in the coming weeks! Can't wait for the new season!

1st Blog - Shameless Promotions

So, I am going to make sure that it is known, I am a noob when it comes to this 'blogging' thing. I have seen it around... Im not old like your dad, so I am aware of what this is. Livejournal and xanga... yeah, I know what that is. I just never really saw the point of a blog. BUT, what better time to start this up than when I am promoting myself as an on-air personality for Big Country 92.3 WJPD... whats that called? OH yeah! Shameless promotions! I hear that's a bad thing to do, but hey, I'm all for it! What else can I do to add to that idea... um, I'm on every Sunday from 7pm to midnight! Alright, that should be enough.... go to www.wjpd.com to check out our website, go to the On-Air, click weekend, then find Jeff Matthias. Ok ok, that was a little much. Today's Hit Country and your all time favorites... man I am on a role now! haha, anyways, this is my 1st official blog, check back frequently to find out... um, what my random... yet cliche thoughts are? Yeah! Do that!
