Sunday's Show Features (8/16)

So I figured to help you follow along with the show, I should post some stuff on my blog. Make it easier for you to find... say the Taylor Swift prank video on Keith Urban... Yes, Taylor Swift has some tricks up her sleeve, which shouldn't be that surprising, since she did a rap with T-Pain! Here is the video of Taylor Swift dressed up as KISS:

I didn't know what to expect when I first saw this video, but the 4 members of KISS during "Kiss a girl" and the Hershey kisses in the background, props go to Taylor Swift for pulling off a great prank!

The Country Charts is another show feature that has a lot of content in a short period of time, so courtesy of a few sources (cmt.com, gactv.com, and billboard.com) here is this week's most up to date TOPS of Country:

#1 Country Album: LIVE on the Inside - Sugarland
#1 CMT Music Video: "You Belong With Me" - Taylor Swift
#1 GAC-TV Music Video: "People Are Crazy" - Billy Currington
--Top 3 Country Singles--
#3: "People Are Crazy" - Billy Currington
#2: "Alright" - Darius Rucker
#1: "You Belong With Me"- Taylor Swift

Another feature is the Reality Update, where anything Reality TV is fair game. This week was all about Big Brother and the Coup D'etat power that Jeff held. Unfortunately, it was the reason that Jessie left the game. I was hoping that Jessie was going to win it all! Though, at least he made it to the Jury house this round... it would have been interesting to see what would have happened if Brian had gotten back on the show at the beginning of the show. Now I have to hope Russel makes it to the end. Also, there is a new reality show coming to ABC on Wednesday (Aug. 26) at 9pm (ET) called Crash Course. Here's what Entertainment Weekly has to say about the show:

"Crash-test dummies get a well-deserved rest thanks to this game show in which contestants compete to see who, for example, can drive a car onto the back of a flatbed truck the fastest. Oh, did we mention that the truck is moving? And that they have to speed through bouncing barrels to get to it?"

To me it sounds like a new version of Fear Factor, minus the whole - eating nasty critters.

Finally, for the look at the weekend movies, plenty of movies came out this weekend... The Goods: Live Hard Sell Hard was the one I managed to see on Saturday. I laughed from start to end, it was a little over the top, but Jeremy Piven makes it a great movie, there are also plenty of cameos in the movie, one of which is Will Ferrel! Also out this weekend was District 9, I can't wait to get a chance to see it! Next weekend is Inglorious Basterds with Brad Pitt, this should be a phenomenal movie to go with the other great works of Quentin Tarantino! Check out the preview:

Taylor Swift Remixes

So I was just shown this amazing YouTube video. Personally, I enjoy music that crosses two genres into one. So to hear Taylor Swift and Usher mixed so well, I couldn't help but to share it on here. Check out the video:

This is one of those songs that I like to repeat... but, it also made me think of this other Taylor Swift video:

Yeah, that was a great video too! Reminds me of the Natalie Portman rap on SNL. But yeah, now I feel like this has turned from a 'check out this cool youtube video I found' to 'check out these Taylor Swift collaborations..." Cause yes, I've known of one more Taylor Swift mix, its an instrumental with Coldplay, sounds pretty good!

That's about all I know for Taylor Swift remixes/collaborations, if you know any, post them in the comments, I would like to see what you know of!

Cruisin through July

So, I am excited to see August, some big dates are coming up such as school starting back up and some events for Big Country... I just realized that July went by so fast. I just remember June and pieces of July, by the way, Marquette, where was the warm summer? That's probably why it went by so fast, the temperature never got sweltering, but I can't complain about that!
Last week I got to interview CJ the day after the show, it was a good interview (I know I say all the interviews are good ones... but still!), especially after the intense episode that they aired the night before. I was as 'pleased' as one can be that they talked about something so serious that I think needs more awareness. Not just for the person that may be going through it and needs the help, but for the people that know someone going through it. That episode definitely showed "How NOT to react"! But realize that we only see what the editing wants us to see so they can manipulate emotion through what they show, still doesn't hide what happens but they only aired the most extreme of things.
Unfortunately the interview was too big for twaud.io to handle but here are the links:
I almost forgot about last night's episode but I was happy to see that Jonna was finally getting an episode that featured her. I definitely have some questions ready to ask her about the show last night. But more interesting is Joey, almost getting fired and next week doesn't look like it's going to get any better for him.
Oh, and I enjoy Big Brother 11 for sure! I'm hoping Jessie makes it far if not win! Well, See yah later July, thanks for reading.

My Mind is on Food...

Hey, so this week I interviewed Jasmine, I found out more into what her real feelings are for Ayiiia. I also found out more about her job with student city. Now that I've mentioned Student City, I found the "Boss Lady's" blogs about each episode... I wanted to see what she had to say about seeing them 'break' the rules while working with Student City. Unfortunately there should be a "Spoiler Alert" on the website cause she gives too much away, even when she thinks she is being subtle. That being said, if you want to check it out, go for it: Chritina's Blog. As for next week, I am going to try to get CJ, it looks like Ayiiia may be getting into a fight with him!
So Real World aside, I was watching the Travel Channel today, and let me tell you, they know when to put food on that channel! I hadn't eaten yet, and they showed "Voddoo Doghnuts" They looked amazing, so I had to find doghnuts in Marquette, Hudson's Bakery had a good variety... though the half-a-dozen deal was a bit much to eat! While my mind is on food, some of my relatives were in town yesterday for brunch... when it comes to buffet bars... Big Boy is where its at. It was funny though, they had a guy who was in charge of keeping it clean, so I accidentally dropped a piece of food on the counter, the guy swooped it up a second later, he was quick! But I must have been messier than the average plate filler, cause the dude was following me until I got back to my table, lol. Well, that just about wraps it up for me, thanks for reading!

Real World Bronnie

So yesterday I got to interview Bronne, I know I was supposed to interview Derek but he needed to reschedule, so I got his best friend in the house instead! Bronne was just as funny in the interview as he is on the show. Also, the MTV Real World Dailies are hilarious, but not just the ones that Bronnie is in. Its that bonus stuff that you wish was in the show but just doesnt fit into the storyline. Here is the link to check out the extended interview: http://twaud.io/5R

Also, as you can see I changed the layout of the page, if you are an experienced blogger, let me know how to country-fiy this page up, some layout tips if you will. Next week I will be interviewing another Real World Housemate, not sure who it will be yet, I'm leaning towards Jasmine, perhaps Emilee, we'll see!

Also, if there are any questions that you have been dying to know, comment and I will try to get you your answers, who knows, I may even know the answer already. Thanks for reading!

You checked out www.wjpd.com and I thank you!

So, I know it's been a while since I've made an attempt to blog. I was on vacation to Milwaukee... I know, some destination right? Well that's where I'm from, pre-NMU. I went to Summerfest and saw some bands play. Saw the family and the extended family, that was cool cause I see them maybe once every 3 to 4 months. But I am definitely happy to be back in Marquette, and getting back into my regular routine.

Aside from being on the air, I do a number of other things for Big Country, one of which is working on the website... http://www.wjpd.com/ you should go there after you read my blog and check it out. The cool thing is that I checked the stats for the site and apparently as of June (which is surprising, because I started blogging in June) out of the Top 5 ways people hear about the website, listed at number 5 is my blog. So like my first blog, here is a little more shameless promoting, tell your friends to check this blog out, and then they can get to the site from here! Then stumbleupon this and vote it up! Thanks to you, we were able to push Live out of the top 5... help me get to the top 3 and push Yahoo and Google down (though Big Country and myself appreciate all the visitors from where ever they find http://www.wjpd.com/ from). Okay thats that speel.

Have you been catching Real World? I have and let me tell you, the season is pulling me in each week, which is great! I'm supposed to be interviewing Derek sometime this week, and I will post a link to the extended interview when it is uploaded... most likely to twaudio (which is an awesome word to say, pause a second and just say "TWAUDIO" out loud, it's okay, I'll wait...).

Well, I think this will wrap up this post, thanks for checking out the blog and the website. If you live within the reach of Big Country 92.3 WJPD flip on the radio or channel 8 (I think) on Sunday nights from 7-Midnight (Eastern Time) and you can hear me, not just read me... that sounded weird, but I'm not going to delete it!

(...I couldn't think of what pic to post)

Tangent thinking... OH and Real World!

I'm trying to not 'force' these blog entries and I don't think I have done that yet (this may count though), I think I'm still working on that "blogger's flow". Trying to figure out what I want to achieve through this blogging concept, I think the most interesting thing someone (especially being on air) can do is to give a peek into their life. Everyone's got opinions, but it's important to make it so that someone can connect to that opinion somehow rather than just spitting words... as I realize I am doing now, seeing as I have no experience relevant to this to share. But I will still post this nonsense, ha!

Anyways, to continue off the original 'birthday blog' I had a good one overall, saw Transformers 2... which is all kinds of epic... Action, Megan Fox, action! The ground squirrel, I haven't seen since that unfortunate incident... hopefully it is gone, but my paranoia about the situation still lurks. All in all, first birthday spent away from the family, it went pretty well. Oh, how can I forget??? I interviewed Ayiiia from Real World Cancun on my birthday... here is the link to the extended interview: http://twaud.io/1k I had a lot of fun with the interview and the best news that I actually got a couple hours ago is that I will be able to interview any Real World Cancuner that I choose as the season progresses! So if you want me to pick a specific real worlder, comment to this blog and I can get it done! The goal is to interview all roommates at least once, maybe twice dependant how the season goes.
